Bing Badda Bings Google with Bing Tweets

Sounds like the name of a bad film but Bing have potentially captured a nice chunk of the search engine market with Bing Tweets.

Bing Tweets combines Twitter trends with Bing search results so that you can check what topics are trending and what are the hottest topics. Bing Tweets allows you to see more in-depth and real time information.

Seems Google may have missed a trick here as they don’t appear to have such real-time information readily available. Watch this space as I think this is a key area for competition. Social media networks are not going away, they are growing by the second and people want to be able to do real-time searches across these networks.

What Bing Tweets really presents to those engaged in social media, is an excellent opportunity to monitor and react almost real-time to conversations revolving around your company, brand or products.

Say for example you worked for a very popular hamburger fast food company you could search for Twitter conversations around your whopper or big version (I guess we all know who we are talking about?!) By searching for recent conversations it is easy through Bing Tweets to immediately follow that Twitter, join the conversation and either convert or reward that Twitterer. This adds to the highly effective marketing tool social media already is.

I recently plucked 5 UK high street retail stores or well know brands and put them through Bing Tweets and results were impressive. Tweets start streaming in and within about 30 seconds all up to date. Again this gives companies the immediacy to interact and respond.
