Recent research based on the United States market indicates that email marketing is still the leader.
The report by Forrester shows that while social media has had an unprecedented growth in recent years, with an estimated third of Americans using social media at least once a month, more users still use email over any other media.
In terms of numbers, the report found that approximately 55.6 million adults used social media while 165.4 million use email on a regular basis.
Based on these stats, marketers should ensure they do not neglect their email marketing. Equally they should not be complacent or dismissive of social media but should work to combine the power of both these channels in all their marketing efforts.
