Most people have seen by now the correct spelling option that appears in Google when it thinks you've entered a wrongly spelled word. However, sometimes you can enter a word that is spelled as you intend it but Google doesn't recognise that spelling, so it still tries to convince you that you mean something else. It can be frustrating.
However, here are some top tips to keep to hand when entering a word into Google:
- Add double quotes to any word or query
- Add a “+” before the word you enter. It tells Google that it is the exact word you’re searching for.
By doing this, you won’t have to be faced with the “did you mean…?” comment at the top. Indeed, it’s great for those that have spelled the word wrong, but for others, these tips might just come in useful next time…
