As we deal with clients and their websites on a daily basis, we occasionally find the odd anomaly popping up. Recently, we had an instance where a client’s website that was listed in DMOZ was appearing in the Google SERPs with the DMOZ meta data instead of what was actually on the client’s site. The title and meta description were being ripped straight from DMOZ!
So, if this sounds like an issue you have had, here is the meta tag code you need to prevent it from happening:
