Gerry McGovern wrote an interesting piece in his newsletter recently. He highlights the importance of using evidence to steer one’s management decisions, and in the world of web management, this is crucial. Taking notice of what the customers want is key to having a successful business.

The examples he used included Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, who recently spent a whole week actually working on the floor at an Amazon distribution centre. He wanted to understand how the distribution centre really works, and there is no better way to do this than to get right to the heart of production.
