Google is to cut 200 jobs from its 20,200 workforce, its first ever mainstream lay-offs. The cuts will be in the search giant’s sales and marketing division, with Omid Kordestani, senior vice president of global sales and business development, saying: “Making changes of this kind is never easy - and we recognise that the recession makes the timing even more difficult for the Googlers concerned.
