According to ABCE results, The Telegraph has overtaken The Sun to become the most popular online newspaper.
Figures for The Telegraph were up to 27.7m, an increase of 6%. The Guardian wasn’t far behind, which attracted 26.2m unique users.
The Sun online is now settling into fifth place, with a total of 21.2m users, a drop of 22%. The Daily Mail’s online newspaper portal reached third place with a total of 23.8m users.
Last month, things were slightly different, with The Sun overtaking the Guardian to secure the prestigious title of “most visited newspaper”, with over 27m unique users.
With traditional media facing a bleak future, online newspapers seem to be doing quite well, with a clear shift from users reading the tangible item to searching for the latest news online.
