WMG has always been charitable. Since the company was founded in 2000, The Web Marketing Group has been involved in a number of charitable events including a sponsored walk for MacMillan Cancer Relief. The company is keen to continue to do its bit for charity and it is with great pleasure that we announce the donation of £1200 to Help for Heroes.
Help for Heroes is a charity that helps and supports British servicemen and women who have been caught up in conflicts. The work that the charity does has been praised by many, including top Army officers and friends and family of the injured. Help for Heroes aids with the recovery and convalescence of all who have been involved in horrific situations.
The Web Marketing Group has strong ties with Help for Heroes. In the Peterborough Sales office, ex RAF serviceman turned New Media Sales Consultant, Jonathan Stimson, knows only too well the wonderful work that Help for Heroes does, since he has suffered the injustice of losing friends and colleagues in the Iraq war. He comments:
“I served in the RAF Regiment for 4 years 1 SQN RAF REGT and completed 2 tours of Iraq. During my time, I lost 4 friends in 2007 and 11 were seriously injured. Thanks to Help for Heroes, my injured comrades managed to pull through and we fully support the work they continue to do for servicemen and women.”
Since Jonathan has left the RAF, 3 more gunners from his Squadron were seriously injured in a road side bomb last year in Afghanistan. Without the time and devotion of Help for Heroes, the recovery period would surely not have been as successful.
The Web Marketing Group MD, Dennis Engel, helped Jonathan raise the money for the Help for Heroes donation and it is thanks to the continued efforts of the Peterborough Sales office that they were able to present the cheque to the charity. Help for Heroes relies solely on charitable donations and WMG is proud to have lent a helping hand.
